The weather on the "hot"
tropical island was more like Scandinavian... Wind, rain, temperature
about 15! Local Spaniards say it is first time for the last 25 years.
Tourists looked veeeeery disappointed.
What can you do? Eat cakes. |

This is the way they grow
grape on Lanzarote. Huge fields are divided on little squares with
borders from stones (Our wives do this, joked taxi-driver). And we
don't know why. Any way -amazing! A lot of work. |

The land of volcanoes...
Actually all the island is covered by lava. The last eruption has
happened at 1731, when the houses were burned and people had to leave to
the closest island (Grand-Canaria). |

There is the famous
restaurant on the top of the one of the highest volcanoes. Half-meter
under the ground the temperature is 300 degrees! So the restaurant is
built on the concrete base, to avoid excess heating. But the heat from
underground is used for cooking. The name of the restaurant is "Diablo"
of course :) |

This is the Garden of
cactuses, about 1000 species. Some of them are very cute! There are also
big fields of cactuses on the island. They seems to make something from
these plants (tequila??) |
